Derrick Fortier and Gregory Taylor have been a couple going on 10 years. The idea of adoption was something they talked about briefly at times, always coming to the conclusion that they were not ready for the responsibility.
Greg was adopted by his mom, and always knew the blessings of adoption. Derrick had dreamed of having his own family and since he comes from a large one himself it was only natural for him to want the same. When the call came in 2005 informing them that the sister of Derrick’s, late best-friend had given birth to a child that she would not keep, they knew it was time to do the right thing.
